The Brits know her as Jordan .... a true UK media sensation. But here in the U.S. we are just getting to know her and to us she is Katie Price. It's never been so evident how different we are here in the United States compared to our friends in Europe, than with the rise of the British Beauty, Katie Price. In essence, Katie Price is famous for being a nude model. Here in the U.S. we tend to look down on girls who do that but Europe seems to celebrate it as Katie Price is one of their most famous super stars who has an estimated worth of more than $40 million! Just to put this in perspective, she's reported to be worth more than celebrities like Brad Pitt who is said to be worth $35 million and 50 Cent who's worth is estimated at $33 million and Nicole Kidman who's personal wealth is estimated to be around $28 million.

It's more than just about being rich though. Katie Price is one of the most photographed people in Britain. Her fame rivals that of the royal family. So how did Katie Price get so famous? Well when she was young (17 according to some accounts, 18 to others) a friend suggested she have some professional photographs taken and they were sent into a modeling agency in London who invited her in for another photo shoot and to discuss a contract. Within a few weeks of that meeting Katie Price began her life as a topless model in the British newspaper called The Sun as what is known as a "Page 3 girl".

A Page Three girl is a woman who models for topless photographs published on the third page of the UK tabloid newspaper The Sun. The Sun is a tabloid newspaper published daily in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland with the highest circulation of any daily English-language newspaper in the world with a daily readership estimated to be over 7.8 million, more than twice as many readers as The NY Times.

Yes, what you are thinking right about now is correct ... Katie Price's only claim to fame is that she was a nude model (mostly topless but sometimes nude) in a trashy tabloid. She was so hot and the number of people who read the magazine was so big, it was only logical she would become a celebrity. At least in Britain ... the Brits seem to be more open minded about nudity.

So why do they call her UK Jordan? Well when Katie began modeling she took on the stage name of Jordan. Here in the U.S. we would refer to her as UK Jordan to identity she is that hot Jordan chick from the UK that everyone is talking about. But in reality her real name is Katie Price and when her showed aired in America on E! she was identified as Katie Price and that is how most American's know of her, Katie Price.

In reality the Katie and Peter show that airs here in the U.S. is a re-edited version of two series that were filmed years ago called Jordan and Peter Laid Bare and Marriage and Mayhem. It is said that much of the cuts were made simply because we here in America are to prude to fully appreciate the original versions. Katie Price's show came to the U.S. at a time when America was quickly growing tired of young, hot, spoiled celebrities like Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan and Britney Spears. This could have been doom for the show and her introduction into the U.S. market. However those who watched the Katie and Peter show would quickly learn she is no spoiled heiress. Katie Price works hard and that was an admirable quality but what probably won most people over is her amazing devotion to her family and her children. Most people were surprised to find out that Katie raises her own children. Whereas most rich people employee a team of nannies, Katie Price doesn't trust anyone with the care of her children, except her mother of course, who has helps Katie care for her children on a full time basis.

When Paris Hilton and that group is seen at one party after another, Katie Price is busy planning her next book deal or business trip. Katie Price isn't a party girl like young Hollywood and that is probably the one thing that didn't get her run out of town the moment she arrived.

Katie Price married a sexy Greek named Peter Andre who had a semi decent music career in the late 1990's. Peter Andr้ first had a top 50 single in the UK called Only One, which reached number #16, and then gained further success with the song Mysterious Girl (featuring Bubbler Ranx), which reached #2 in the UK singles chart. He then had a #1 album Natural, and two #1 singles Flava, and I Feel You. However, after attempting to transform into an R&B artist rather than pop and releasing a few more singles, his success waned with his second album Time, only reaching #28. In 1998 he released his last single (a cover of the song Kiss the Girl from Disney's The Little Mermaid) before being dropped by his music label, and taking a long break from the charts.

In 2006 Peter Andr้ released a rendition of "A Whole New World" from the Disney movie Aladdin in which Jordan sings Jasmine's lyrics. The song has been panned by critics for Price's singing with one critic stating "when Jordan chimes in after a minute or so with her high-pitched, way off tune karaoke, you would swear an animal was being attacked."

Katie Price was born Katrina Alexandra Infield on May 22, 1978. Katie Price was born and raised in the seaside town of Brighton in East Sussex, England. Her mother is English and her maternal grandmother is Jewish, making Katie Price halachically Jewish. Katie took the surname Price after her mother remarried following the split from her biological father when she was a child. Katie Price has an older brother named Daniel and a younger sister, Sophie.

Katie Price began modeling and her life as Jordan in 1996, within two years she was well-established in her career, with frequent appearances on Page 3 and in men's lifestyle magazines, however that wasn't enough for Katie. She was always insecure about her breast size, being born with a natural B cup, so despite her families objections she had them enhanced to a D cup. Eventually they would go even larger ... some say as large as 32FF.

Katie Price is the mother of three children. Her eldest son Harvey is the product of a long past relationship with Trinidad soccer star Dwight Yorke. Harvey is partially blind and very large for his age due to a hormone imbalance, part of a growth disorder, and is showing early signs of autism. At a very young age it was thought he would never be able to speak but Katie, her mother and Peter Andre work with Harvey daily and in time his communication has greatly improved. Harvey's medical condition, he needs to be monitored very closely. In 2006 he had to be admitted to the hospital after badly scalding his legs when he turned on a hot tap in a bath, which is why Katie probably finally agreed to the services of a nanny for help with her son but in May 2007 while under the care of a nanny, he was again rushed to the hospital after badly cutting his face from falling into a mirror. Well less falling and more running right smack into it. Harvey's nanny was also taken to hospital and discharged after injuring herself as she tried to help the boy.

I will admit that it is unusual in the U.S. to have a nude model to reach any sort of real mainstream fame like Katie Price has in the U.K. But if anyone can do it, I suspect it will be Katie Price and say what you will about Katie Price .... she has the last laugh as she is amazingly beatiful and rich. Nothing else really can top that.
